2013 started with a bang. First, my beloved 2003 Ford Focus got totalled, rear-ended by a SF City employee on New Years Eve. The bang continued with my rent getting raised $300, and then it merged into a futile month-long search for a house in the Bay Area. I say futile because every house I could afford had 60+ offers on it and my humble Pugly Pixel income can’t compete with the big bucks salaries of Silicon Valley engineers who are paying cash for $600K+ homes. Then there was my bangin’ road trip to Oregon last week to consider my alternatives. Perhaps I’ll thrive in the Silicon Forest instead??? Who knows?!! Anyway, all of these changes freak me out, but at the same time, I’m inexplicably excited…
